Reader, go read Ado the Owl for free! (And listen to our free Christmas EP "The Stream-Enterer Vol.II" by "Prajna or The Elephant"!)
Ado the Owl is the second piece of flash fiction in The Wisps Book; following Tomothy and the Overseer of the Forest, the Terraforms lose sight of the owl, who struggles to escape the darkness of their worries.
Blurb:
Fall into darkness, /
unable to see escape, /
listening for threats.

Ado the Owl, while on a stroll with the Overseer of the Forest, fell into a cave and was unable to escape or fly away.
The other Terraforms looked down, noticing that Ado had fallen into the cave, but the Terraforms disappeared one by one.
Because of this, Ado started to believe the Forest's cave was protecting them from a predator outside.
The Owl listened close, in case the others would return.
But Ado the Owl was unsure about calling out for help--they worried over attracting the predator.

Happy Halloween!
Summond the Scarecrow is about the titular Giant consuming the patrons of the Sorauren Farm’s pumpkin parade, and was inspired by the 2022 Inktober prompt list along by a trip with April [who co-wrote this story!] to a number of parks across Toronto; April likened Summond the Scarecrow to E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web, and I have taken inspiration for the Overseer from superhero characters like Marvel’s Spider-man and Doctor Strange.
Summond the Scarecrow had consumed the Overseer of the Forest.
The Seer had brought the Giant jack o’ lantern head to a post-Halloween pumpkin parade.
They were forced to watch in the form of timeless spectating Shadows, while the daemon rolled through the annual Halloween event and caused people to go missing every year. But, in part of their plan to free the patrons trapped in the pumpkin, the Seer had to tempt Summond into consuming more.
The Overseer issued the Terraform a dire warning; the Scarecrow would burn unless they released those who Summond had been consumed.

Welcome to another HaikuPrajna Challenge--a monthly prompt series, which I started in honour of HaikuPrajna’s fourth birthday, that uses the titles of the books reviewed on the blog!
This prompt challenge is just for fun, and I will be resharing submissions; this is an opportunity for us both to interact and engage with the haiku poetry writing community.
GUIDELINE RULES
Open to all humans, even those who would never read the book are encouraged to participate!
Write a haiku / senryu / zappai based on what the prompt made you first think about.
Each prompt is a book title, if you have never read the story, write about the visuals that the title inspires for you.
Remember to evoke imagery with your poem, traditional haiku is said to juxtapose two nature or season related visuals.
Please provide a text-based version if submitting an image.
Use the hashtag #HaikuPrajnaChallenge
Submit your poem by sharing online with the hashtag; please link to it in the comments or via DM if I miss resharing it!!

This Halloween, April and I painted and carved pumpkins, spent the night in Toronto at the Church Street block party, and we went and smashed our Jack o' Lanterns at Brampton City Hall on the first of November.
