Hello!
In this post I'll be providing updates to you on upcoming projects, and we will be focusing on revealing the current HaikuPrajna Project Roadmap. I hope you will look forward to what we have to offer and will find a story that suits your interests.
To start, I am honored to officially announce our upcoming book releases. Please take a look at the following two blurbs;
Escape Perennial City : Superhero Science Fiction, Adult Speculative Fiction"'This document is a transcript of a recorded remote viewing.'
A teleporting man had tried to escape the city, into the Wasteland, but he was prevented by the walls. The government and its telekinetic citizens refused to believe, confirm or deny his discovery. The party responsible expends themselves against Charley Finch to silence him, forcing him to evade the police Chief and their department throughout the city. Citywide property damage and injury led Charley to decide to appeal with the Mayor at City Hall.
There, he learns how to overcome these hindrances and strives to escape Perennial City."
Planned release : August 2021
"The Spearthrower travels across the land.
Having left his family's cave, a paleolithic man searches for other cave-people with the hope of learning about their ways of life. His own nomadic system follows a routine of hunting, crafting and sleeping. Along his journey, Spearthrower makes friends with club-bearing caves that teach him cutting edge techniques such as cooking and sewing. On his way back home he learns how to cope with the changes and loss that accompanies growing old. During this time, Spearthrower passes on his system to his friends as thanks for the wisdom that he had gained."
Fishing for Caribou : Magical Realism, "Metaphysical/Visionary" Fiction
Planned release : October 2021
Formal release date announcements and cover reveals for both projects will arrive in the next few weeks. Each project's respective pages will also be updated, so please check them out at the top of the page for more information. These are the two projects that I am most proud of to share with you. I hope everyone is just as excited for our upcoming books as we are.
Next, with the updating of our upcoming releases, I would like to tease a couple of projects that are in active development. Due to the nature of work-in-progresses, as always, the information that you are about to read is liable to change.
Project "Fluke" is an anthology of stories that I am currently drafting and outlining which follows a cast of characters who are tied together thematically and narratively by the titular character. The book is framed by the appearance-altering Fluke's misadventures that serves as a chronology for the other superheroes' stories. "Fluke" is planned for a Summer 2022 release.
Another WIP that is being outlined may be familiar to past readers. I have completely reworked "Orson Tripp" from the ground up, and I have a solid outline for the novel's overarching plotline. As of writing, I am focused on outlining the chapters before heading into drafting. Below is a short summary;
"Eloise Orson is arriving at the Edwin Tripp Institution for Adults with Telekinetic Abilities. The Institution was founded to develop such abilities. Eloise is in disbelief over having reality altering powers and being in the Institution. The other inpatients all have reasons to want to be there and receive treatment. Once Eloise convinces the others of Edwin's illusion, he abuses their dependence on him to turn the inpatients into Nightmares based on their desires and powers."
"Orson Tripp" is planned for a late 2022 release.
Before I end this post, I would also like to tease a few future projects. A sequel for Escape Perennial City is in early stages of development, and a new novel that will act as a continuation of Fluke, Orson Tripp and the sequel for Escape Perennial City has been planned. Hardcover copies of existing and future books are also slowly rolling out, along with Kindle Vella editions (when the service goes global).
To cap off these updates, I would like to thank you for reading. We have sold over fifty copies of our books! I have the continued hope that everyone will continue reading and enjoying HaikuPrajna as much as I have while writing it.
Stay safe,
Allen W. McLean
